I met Kay in the summer of 2022. She was on an East Coast tour. I was lucky enough to fit in between her commute from NYC to Philadelphia. My home studio is reasonably placed in between. We hosted Kay overnight and shot this first thing in the morning before Kay’s departure. We were all very comfortable at this point, and the shoot created especially great images. this may be one of my all-time favorite shoots because we really got a chance to put our guards down. In this day and age, it’s hard to believe bohemian mentalities still exist. There is an ingredient of humanities return in these photos.
It’s shot in my favorite spot in my studio. The set was on the grungier side this morning, thus inspiring some of the grunge in the shoot. Most of these images are directly out of the camera with minor edits. I just thought they looked great as is.
There is quite a bit of great stuff with Kay that I will post one day in the future. Sadly I lost touch with Kay, but I’m hopeful she’s finds me when the wind blows her back East.
